Halprin, Rose Luria

Halprin, Rose Luria
(1896-1978)
   American Zionist leader. She was born in New York. She served as president of the women's Zionist organization Hadassah from 1932 to 1934 and 1947 to 1951. From 1934 to 1939 she was Hadassah's correspondent in Palestine. In 1947 she was elected to the executive of the Jewish Agency for Israel, on which she served for over 20 years; in 1968 she became chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency.
